2016-17 Initiation Bike Polo Challenge of Ile-de-France |
The sixth edition of the Initiation Bike Polo Challenge of Ile-de-France has been held on three legs organized by the U.S. Alfortville Cyclisme in Alfortville (Val de Marne, France) on 19 November 2016, by the Argenteuil V.S.C. 95 in Argenteuil on 7 January 2017 and by the Paris C.O. on 28 January 2017 in Paris. 1st leg - 6th Alfortville Tournament (19 November 2016)
The U.S. Alfortville has organized at the Toulon stadium in Alfortville the first leg of this regional challenge dedicated to beginners in bike polo. The referees came from the E.C. Montgeron-Vigneux, the Paris C.O. and the Parisis A.C. 95. This challenge was open to beginners in bike polo from 8 years old player to adults.
Five clubs were there: the E.C. Montgeron-Vigneux (Essonne), the Paris C.O. (Paris), the Parisis A.C. 95 (Val d'Oise), the Team 94 Villeneuvoise (Val de Marne) and the U.S. Alfortville (Val de Marne). 22 players were in 5 teams of 4 or 5 players each Alfortville 1 & 2, P.A.C. 95, Paris-Alfortville and Villeneuve-St-Georges-Montgeron-Vigneux-Alfortville.

After an introduction to how to use a mallet with a ball and a bicycle, the 5 teams played 2 X 7 minute matches in a round robin format.
A victory gave three points, a tie two points and a defeat one point.
If, after all qualification matches, two teams had the same number of points, the rank for both teams would have followed the conditions below (in order of priority):

The referees came from the Argenteuil V.S.C. 95, the Paris C.O. and the Parisis A.C. 95. This challenge was open to beginners in bike polo from 8 years old player to adults.
Four clubs were there: the Argenteuil V.S.C. 95 (Val d'Oise), the Paris C.O. (Paris), the Parisis A.C. 95 (Val d'Oise) and the U.S. Métro Transports (Paris). 21 players were in 5 teams of 4 or 5 players each Argenteuil, P.A.C. 95 1 & 2, Paris and a mixed team Argenteuil-Métro-Paris-Parisis.

3rd leg - 1st Paris Tournament (28 January 2017)
The Paris Cycliste Olympique has organized at the Plaine de jeux du polygone in Paris (Vincennes Wood) the third and last leg of this regional challenge dedicated to beginners in bike polo. The referees came from the Vélo-Club de Frileuse et de Sanvic, the Paris C.O. and the Parisis A.C. 95. This challenge was open to beginners in bike polo from 8 years old player to adults.
Six clubs were there: the Paris C.O. (Paris), the Parisis A.C. 95 (Val d'Oise), the U.S. Alfortville (Val de Marne), the U.S. Métro Transports (Paris), the V.C. Frileuse-Sanvic (Seine-Maritime) and the V.C. St-Saëns (Seine Maritime). 25 players were in 6 teams of 4 or 5 players each: Alfortville, Paris 1, Paris 2, Parisis and the mixed teams St-Saëns-Frileuse-Sanvic-Paris and Paris-Métro.
